The burning sun lifts its bald head
over thick morning foliage,
shining equally on your world and mine—
miles apart, yet touched by the same fire.
But even light cannot enter
the closed circuits of blood and marrow,
those private tides that flow unseen,
nor can it steady the midnight surf
of thought that crashes, unbidden,
against the mind’s dark shore.
And doesn’t that unrest
mirror the world’s own searching—
the impossibility of living contained
within skin and bone
while the spirit strains toward what lies beyond?
We leap impossible distances
to calm the frightened child within,
who never understood
why love can turn so quickly to artifice,
why words fail at the edge of feeling.
Still, the motion continues—
tidal waves of the soul
curling over the small boat of the self,
again and again.
We fumble forward,
decades spinning like planets,
grinding through time’s dark gravity,
our tiny hearts burning,
wondering,
what is it that knows itself
and still cannot be known?

Coincidental? I just finished watching a video about the “secrets” of the universe, mostly pictures from the Webb, Hubble & Chandra telescopes! Amazing!
Oh, that’s so cool, Ashley! There are no coincidences, or so I have heard. 😉 😘
Beautifully scripted Bela…. I think we all stumble forward, into the unknown… nursing wounds, yet trusting the healing process of our hearts and of the Sun the centre, of our universe, without whom we would not survive.. So as it breaks across the horizon each day break, it is urging us forward to face another day..
We all need to explore those dark recesses of our inner self, as we allow the Light of the unknown aspects of self to surface into the Light of day…
I wonder though, do we ever truly Know ourselves? Maybe in the next life we may get a fuller understanding of the multi layered beings we truly are..
Sending you much love dear Bela… xx as we navigate both light and dark.. xxx 🙏💖
Thanks for reading, my friend. I had a long conversation in the vein you are speaking of just this morning. For me, it is the quest for the knowing that spurs me into understanding what I can on any given day. If it stretches just me or if it stretches the collective just a little bit, that’s got to be enough. Even though I might like it to be much more. Humans do move at a glacial pace, evolution itself takes immeasurable time. I just have to trust my place in the scheme of things. And like you, we know the Earth is our invitation every day to embody and move along through the blessed days we are given. 🙏♥️
Humans may move slowly Bela, but they will get their eventually :-)🙏🦋🙏
