Dull and sleeping until the next event
is the general state of humanity, how forgetful
we all can be, the heaviness of conditioning,
the arc of forgetfulness leading us to believe
this to be all, the summation of eons of time,
muted down into a sliver of thin bright souls;
We are galactic citizens, we are light, light!
Agreeing and perhaps lobbying to come
to the beautiful planet with dense energies
and yet, such beauty! The laws we, as fathomless
ones, have known in no other way before, agreeing,
as personified infinity might, to new experience;
Yet now, getting to imagine limits, restrictions, rules,
and all becomes possible because we have chosen
to negate our cosmic home at our birth, donning these
fleshy space suits, means by which we navigate
this particular realm;
Still, we arrive with such amnesia into the tiny beings
our limitless souls must first inhabit, affronted at every
turn, bright false light, too much noise, overstimulation
to these newfound senses, hardly time to adjust,
and the people into whose loving care we land seem
to have little idea of us as likewise unlimited, and so
we scream at the injustice of our helplessness, perhaps
now wanting out, but there is no way, save our physical
demise, and we have only begun to explore this life, oh!
And we holler again and again, testing the limits
of these newfound vocal cords meant for speech,
strange communication devices, so vastly different
from the telepathy we are used to;
And twenty year units on earth seems ponderous,
time leaden as a fishing weight sinking, sinking -
schools and churches and cars and asphalt
and strange metal tubes flying through the heavens -
We try and rise, gulping for purer air, closer
to the pristine light we once knew, discovering flashes
of joy and bliss amidst the wonders we are wired
to appreciate, some more than others; a handful
bonded to nature, some enthralled with leaves
of books instead, still more who enjoy the hypnosis
of a different sort of glow, emanating now from a tiny
device held in a shaking hand, we need soothing,
a bigger amplitude of forgetfulness of these restrictive
forms as we grasp, or push physical limitations, drink
or smoke or spin around in a grove of circling sister trees
reaching for the heavens that hold memories
of a different sort; while a tap, tap, tapping on skulls
made of dense bone, impenetrable as the experiences
we find hard to digest, impossible to divest from, and if
we somehow could pay attention to the prompting,
tune in through whatever means, to the still silvery river
flowing, always flowing through our core, we sense:
are we observing from the banks, or trying to paddle
upstream, forcing the flow to stop for a moment
like a child's foot dragging the ground to slow a
merry-go-round, or do we relax into movement
of the current, enjoying the ride, feeling its caress
like a babe being rocked to sleep, while we begin
to remember the river's purpose, easing us along
the journey, moving us more directly than our
stubborn will ever could;
Then the floating maze of puzzle pieces begins
to rearrange itself, and we glimpse a wholeness
that has felt light years away, while the fallacy of space
and time dissolves and we dive into the simple sensation
of being One with the river, One with all Life, knowing
to our core the myth of separation, the different suits,
the animals, trees, rocks, colors, all meant for joy
and delight, not the means by which to divide and judge;
Return, return to the heart, golden key to the cosmos,
let it all go, hold nothing bitter or coarse, forgive all
in yourself first, the forgetting was not your design alone,
then release the confusions of others to allow unity to seep
and spread as more and more souls unite in the bliss
our existence was meant to be.

Hi Bela,
I found this a very thought-provoking post. The lines which jumped out at me are :
“Yet now, getting to imagine limits, restrictions, rules,
and all becomes possible because we have chosen
to negate our cosmic home at our birth, donning these
fleshy space suits, means by which we navigate
this particular realm…….”
If more and more of us were to change our viewing lens which we use to create our World views and Frames of References, to one which is dictated by the above words, as we ‘don our fleshy space suits’ to be mere travellers and navigate this realm, our attachments to all that we consider of permanence will loosen. And Humanity will learn to live in peace………

Ahhh! Always my wish, Shakti! Thank you my friend. 🙏♥️
Shakti,
Thoroughly agree with you! Well done!
That’s a beautiful vision. Still, mostly, we remain confined to our mortal senses and gravity-bound.
I haven’t heard india.arie in a long time…thanks for the reminder of her wonderful voice and vision. (K)
Hi friend, I’m working on the Blogger Highlight post we spoke about and would like to ask you to provide two photos and a post that have meaning to you. I will include them so that people can see your photography. If there’s anything else you would like to include about yourself that would be great. It will post in a few weeks. I like to take my time to do the best job. Have a great day. 🙂
A thoughful poem for the times, Bela. I really like the lines, ‘the heaviness of conditioning, the arc of forgetfulness leading us to believe this to be all.’ Conditioning is so powerful and sometimes we don’t realise we are conditioned. It can take a fair bit to question what we have always known about ourselves and society, for there will be people pushing us to be on a certain path and fit a certain mould. I can sense the positivity in your write up as it went on. Being at One with what nature and the cosmos has to offer takes surrender, not in the sense of ‘giving up’ something but rather trusting what is that we need to feel enlightened, uplifted and a greater purpose to live. And that we live not to bend down to serve others, but serve others and the world around us – to make a difference – with our talents and what we can offer.
I hope all is going well with you, and you are enjoying summer in your part of the world. Much love to you, my friend 😊❤
And love back, Mabel!
I can’t believe I am just now getting back into WordPress, however tentatively. The move had more moving parts than we might have wished, but we are settled for the time being and happy to be back in our Hawaiian community.
Hoping your winter is proving fruitful for you! I will eventually get to reading any posts you might have offered since I wrote this, but oh my gosh, I really have some catching up to do!
I love how, as always, you thoughtfully take in posts that we write and equally thoughtfully respond with your perspectives. It is unbelievably refreshing and comforting to read anything that you contribute.
I am contemplating posting a rant I wrote a poem about regarding immigrants in the US. As a child of the 1960s, I find it nearly impossible to believe that the civil rights and freedoms we fought so diligently for, rights for all people in a country built on immigrant labor, is having to be challenged once again in modern times. Makes me wonder if people ever really change. But then I look back a couple of hundred years, and I guess changes have been made. I would love to see greed less of a motivator in our world today, though.
OK, mini rant over for now! Thanks ever so much for your contributions to my blog site, my friend. 🙏🌺♥️
Congratulations on the move, Bela. Hawaii! It sounds like you are back to where you belong, or at least feel like belonging. I am glad Spring is here…was so over winter, and now looking ahead towards Summer. I don’t think I have had many offerings since you last visited 😄 I am looking forward to reading you once again. You always write and talk about what we need to hear. We have changed as a society over the years, I think at times blinded by competition and distractions. May we all find the light and let it light our way. Hope you are settling in and wishing you well for your next chapter, my friend 😊❤
Thank you, my dear! I am glad you were looking toward your summer! And we are back home, which will always be home, and I am glad we are here.
Thank you for your sweet compliment, I write what comes through me, that is all I have ever done. Sometimes I am as surprised as anyone. 😆 Writing for me has never been about gaining a big audience, but those who do respond seem to hear something meaningful to them and I am glad. Thank you for the affirmation. Until we meet again! 💗
You are welcome, Bela. Sounds like home was calling you all along. Enjoy being home. Your writing is thoughtful and meaningful as always. May home give you the inspiration to write more 🙏❤
it already has! Deep gratitude, Mabel. 🙏♥️
