Sometimes I reflect on my life and it's hard to believe
it really was me; those years of confusion, trial by fire,
choices made; as grit in an oyster, collecting experiences
like pearls forming, oh so slowly, though I knew not
what they would reveal, nor had the insight to realize
how precious they would become;
Years in the same body grant one the gift of hindsight
developed no other way, and it still astounds me
that it seems necessary to learn through adversity,
pain, discomfort; can we discover another
way, a truer path to the love-in-form that humans
were meant to be?

Hi, my name is Melinda from Looking for the Light blog on WordPress. I would like to highlight your blog in my Monday series Blogger Highlight. Is that cool with you? I think my community would like an introduction to your site. So many great topics. I’m working on how to follow you. Have a great day. 🙂
Thanks, Melinda, for thinking of me. Of course you can follow or feature. Have a blessed day! 🌈
Back at ya!
Pearls! Imperfectly perfect! 💓🤗🙏
Haha, thanks, Ashley! Hope all is well with you! 🙂
Excellent.
Thanks, Shell! 🌈
We never stop learning. (K)
So true🙏!
Bella,
One of the other ways is, for me, to ask at every emotion – do I need to keep feeling this? I remind myself I don’t NEED to keep feeling sad, angry, anxious, etc. That reminder serves to open the way for other, more positive thoughts. It may sound tedious, but it takes seconds and is a kind of meditation moment when performing onerous tasks or when I find myself repeating some uncomfortable emotion as I go about my day.
Pauline, thanks for this offering. What you are describing is mindfulness in action! 🙏💗
Well BJ, brilliant as usual!
Reality is a construct we ourselves create.
So be careful.
And if things go awry …………. well, blame the other guy!
Peace.
Haha, leave it to you to come up with this comment, TS! 💜
It’s a speciality of sorts.
😂😂😂
Sometimes Bela.. it is only through those True grit experiences, we gain wisdom, that serves us later on in life.. Looking back I give thanks for those deep dives within… exposing those true gems which were always present.. <3 xx
Sending love your way Bela xx <3
You know, Sue, I wrote a response to your comment, and it’s completely gone. Got on my laptop and it’s still being fussy. Sometimes WP can be challenging. Anyhoo, Exactly right. We see this brilliant gem in every small child, and yet somehow, somewhere along the line, the light dims and can be extinguished altogether. It makes me sad. I really pray we can all co-create a world (as we have done with this one, so it can happen with enough collective will) where these kinds of tough lessons are not necessary. Where every soul is valued, where every child innately knows its worth. Nassim Haramein speaks of this – that in some future society, there won’t be a need for rules, that everyone simply knows we are all galactic citizens, and why would we offend ourselves, in essence? I dream of that day. Blessings, dear friend! ☮️
Ah yes hindsight with grit takes us further along the path. As does mind sight and appreciation. Good luck with your transition Bela 💐🙏🏻💛
Many thanks, dearest Val. Appreciate You. xo
No? LOL!
Ah, Pink, if you mean you doubt my true reflections on my life, you are free to do so! But I truly have gone through many lifetimes in this one! I was a frightened child growing up, a quietly rebellious wild child in my 20’s, a surprised mother in my 30’s (never expected kids, they both arrived w/birth control in place), a freer spirit in my 40’s, once I realized I was not cut out for any business but that which was self created, a freer, wiser being in my 50’s, a calmer more centered one in my 60’s, and now I’m 70. It’s been a journey, and I don’t plan to stop learning or that my life will end anytime soon! Though sometimes I am given pause to reflect and realize it’s been quite the ride! xo
Oh no. I don’t doubt you. I doubt me.
Woof!! 😂
Bela loved the two verses.
Can personal growth and development take place without adversity? When I look at my own life, I can spot the various inflexion points which made me choose a path and develop. Each of them arose from perspective shifts arising out of pain points and adverse situations. In many cases they were paths less trodden…….
Stay well.

Shakti, I can completely relate! And you state it so succinctly, well done. And I wonder. I do think with age, I’m more able to observe the nuances and thus make choices that are a little less fraught, though as life lessons deepen, the pain persists at such inflection points. Perhaps it is simply the human condition. But I surely wish it was different! Less so for me perhaps, more so for my girls. Hard to observe, even from a great distance, choices I know from experience will precipitate a steeper learning curve. Sigh. And on we go.
Trust you and yours are well! ♥️
