Is it in our eyes as the beholder? Is it in the outside realms and its power to impact our perceptions? Or is it in the complex interplay of life’s changing hues between the beholder and the beholden?

Aloha Shakti, and all blessings of the season to you! I’m not sure ‘where’ beauty lies, but I do know it exists. Is it to evoke a connection to our mother earth, or to propagate the species in humans? Yet we all do respond to it. Even in the animal kingdom, males putting on the most colorful displays win out over those with less flair for the privilege to breed. In the end, I’m simply glad to my bones that I have the ongoing privilege to witness beauty in nature; to create beauty in homes and in the garden. By whatever name or to whatever purpose under heaven. Be well. <3

Mahalo, Swarn! We certainly did – went for a day-long hike down through rain-soaked fields and muddy tracks along sea cliffs, crossing a stream and back up into more fields to arrive back near to our point of origin. Beautiful, exhausting, a real dog day 😉 Of course after an hour’s rest, the dogs were ready to go again, but we called it a night 😉
