Long ago, I read about a famous designer who insisted on a splash of red in every room of the home. While it can be one of the more challenging colors to implement, when used tastefully red adds warmth and a touch of excitement to any environment. Many people are afraid of using color and spend most of their indoor lives in a pastel world. It doesn’t have to be this way. Positioning a small red table or object in a special place is something anybody can experiment with. Repainting a tired old piece of furniture a lovely Chinese red can invigorate the feel of an entryway or hall, as these smaller spaces are more easily overlooked. Red says, “Notice me!” After giving it a fair trial, if you don’t like the change, simply place the item in another room. Painting an entire room red, however, really does require the eye of a good Interior Designer. After all, there are reds, and then there are reds!
