Beyond what any math can validate
lie the secrets of the universe, communicated
in code our scientists have yet to unravel
mostly because, despite their elevated position
in society, they are still trying to interpret the language
of stars into the restrictive lingo of their profession,
the static staccato of structure and stricture;
Life is about as organized as a bullet fired from a gun;
science would say that trajectory should go straight
and true, fired from a desire to know all to its logical
conclusion, yet we are all part of a vast cosmic dance,
so why do plans go awry, splitting the casing
before the missile is released, shards shattering
everywhere, potentially destroying even the messenger,
thus how are we to maintain faith in exactitudes
in the face of such conflagration?

Kohala Coast, Hawaii Island ~ bj 2024
You have a wonderful way with words on the page! 🤗💕 Glorious photo too. I love the contrast of the dark and the light! Tomorrow is the autumn equinox, the balance of light and dark and so I publish another hokku.
Oh nice! Let me look and see! Have a blessed equinox time! 😊
Fabulous, Bela!
Mahalo, Paul! 🙏🌺💜
I believe there is a vast difference between what science says about life and how it unfolds. I wish it could be as organized as we plan it to be. Nobody can understand the language of the stars except poets. 😊
Beautifully stated! Thanks for sharing your viewpoint. ♥️
Numbers and straight lines are human inventions. Probably time as well. (K)
As per the usual, excellent.
Aww, so much thanks! 🙏🌺
Love the unexpected light and shadow. 💝
Mahalo, Val. 💕
I feel Bela, nothing is ever in a true straight line, be a thought or especially the scientific field of so called ‘Knowledge’
For man has a habit of turning corners, missing signs, and going along detours… All is ever unfolding in this map of life..
And sometimes those shards that shatter us, are what pulls us back onto our roads..
Another beautiful muse dear Bela and a gorgeous coastal road image as you settle back into the Island that you love .. <3
Much love my beautiful friend.. 💖🙏💖
And love back to you, Sue! We are continually settling in, but have our own affordable house now the spirits of Hawaii have helped us find (off market) in the craziest real estate market ever. We are grateful, and madly working to get the house ready to move into.
You and I both feel the impending changes, so you of all people understand why it is critical to find ‘our places’ as conscious beings moving through uncertain times. Hoping you and Bernard are experiencing peace amidst the fray, and that your garden continues to yield its magic! Love and light, dear one.
Indeed Bela… Holding space in our various parts of the world my friend… And yes we are fine… Keeping on Keeping On my friend.. Much love to you xx <3 xx
♥️♥️♥️
I think science has its place and it has certainly helped with many advancements and brought us closer in many ways. Think the Internet, social media, planes, you get the picture. I think what we often forget is that science is always subject to updates and revision, of building upon knowledge into something else. The findings of science offer structure but it is not exactly concrete and subject to context too.
It is because of this I find it interesting that people tend to dismiss or look down upon things like the arts. Like science, the stars and skies are also another language to understand where we are at. And yes, ‘they are still trying to interpret the language of stars into the restrictive lingo of their profession’ I so agree with this. At the end of the day, there are all kinds of languages and modes of interpretation. One isn’t better over the other. Rather each offer different perspectives and insights. Sometimes it is the straight and narrow that keeps us going in circles and causes us the most grief. Sometimes trust and surrender is what we need to take the next step.
Wishing you well, Bela. Great writing as usual ❤
Mahalo, Mabel. ❤️
I think the good scientist is the one who is ever aware that they don’t know everything, even about their latest discovery. For another discovery lies just beyond the bend. And I think with regards to the arts, it is best to keep an open mind, for each person interprets things according to whatever conditioning, desire, throw in the adjective of choice… and so we are lucky to have so many choices to explore the same ideas and concepts.
I love what you said about the straight and narrow leading us in circles! Too true!
Blessings in the new year, whenever you celebrate it! On the islands, we celebrate both January 1 and the Chinese new year as well. It’s fun, we have a tiny town, and yet the dragon winds through the streets scattering candy. The kids love it. ☺️😘
We certainly have own conditioning, tastes, biases… Indeed we can explore similar concepts in different ways, if we are open.
It is a time for new beginnings. There’s also the equinox in March too 🙂 Enjoy the celebrations in your town, Bela. Much love and many hugs across the miles to you ❤🙏☺️
And to you, dear Mabel! 💗
