Standing on the precipice of sweeping change
as man-made societal structures shift rapidly,
the environment prodding and nudging us awake,
sometimes gently and yet, knowing humans ignore
too much, ramping up its game, rocking some
with earthquakes and volcanoes, dumping deluges
of water or snow upon others, and what is my tether?
How to stay grounded amidst the greasy landslides
of uncertainty; how to reframe existence
while striving for a saner, more inclusive world;
February has only begun, as water falls from eaves,
melted rooftop snow in what is still midwinter,
tiny birds hunt and peck amidst seed left over
from their larger cousins this morning, the sun
now warming ground enough to entice them out,
and I, too go walking, observing snow giving way
to bare ground around trees, then spreading out
into the surrounding landscape, soaking up
moisture to nourish thirsty roots, knowing
cycles and vagaries owing to the history of land
before human reckoning.

Snow falls and stays awhile ~ bj 2/23
Great eye of detail and beautiful imagery Bela. February is the month of transition. Lovely picture too.
Thanks so much, Balroop. I appreciate it! 🙏❤️
You paint such a beautiful picture despite the catastrophic long term impact to the earth and ourselves. Have you come across Adyashanti’s recent talks about Climate Change and awakening?
Val, thank you for your kind praise. I love Adyashanti, and will have to take a look at his recent talks about climate change and awakening. Thanks for the prompt! 🙏❤️

Thank you! For others as well. 🙏💕
Nature has been speaking louder, for sure. Lovely prose and photo, Bela.
Thanks, dear Eliza. 🙏💓
A small oasis in the upheaval all around. It is good to appreciate what remains, especially when we get overwhelmed by everything happening all around us. The world is so small now, every tragedy is felt by all. (K)
Nature keeps on keeping on, no matter what Man does or doesn’t do… A beautiful muse as snow melts and we stay focused upon the small things which mean so much within the scheme of things.. Nature will always have the last word.. <3 Beautiful photo Bela.. <3
She will!
Blessings, my friend. 🙏😍😘
