Anxiety for me is not a teeth-chattering,
nerve-rattling affair, rather the tendency
of an untended mind to flutter toward
the familiar always a heartbeat away
from cool, grounded sanity;
When you return at day’s end, I step
into your world for a moment of comic
relief, little blue dove riding thermals
of your mastered stride, little girl trailing
behind daddy and his toolbox, eager
to discover how things work;
Feeling the weight of chisels soothes
ruffled feathers, caressing copper, steel,
the oiled wooden handles which,
in your perfect patient hands, creates
both the smooth carved boxes holding
treasures as well as the home
in which we live, life-sized canvas

Sue, you are a light in the world with your own presence and art. Very much so. Thanks for acknowledging our own creative contributions. What we do to remain sane, and to do what is possible in the face of so much that seems untenable and out of orbit in this world.
We, too are hoping for drier weather, though since the inception of 2018, I had a deep feeling that the year would be a wet one. And it has proven true. Though what to do – Mother Earth needs to salvage what she can of herself, and we do understand that much, at least. Each area of the globe will doubtless experience their own changes as these times accelerate us toward a tipping point where we collectively comprehend that we are not Masters of the Universe but rather cocreators who need to work sustainably to maintain presence in the physical realm. All sentient life deserves its place in the sacred scheme of things, as has ever been the case.
So glad you’re taking time to indulge your rich creative self, Sue. I am right there with you in spirit. Aloha and love 💓🌋😍🌈💞
🙂 The rain has come back here over the last few days, but its needed after the very dry summer. And the grass and fields are once again green, nature soon recovers when she has room to breathe and do what she knows best..
I loved your creative skills.. Wood is alive and begs to be touched after the carpenter has done his work.. I have many wooden bowls turned on lathes and marvel at their grains that tell me their ages.. 🙂 The essence of the tree even when fallen shines through.
And that brings me hope for mankind.. Many may fall, like the millions of trees, but there will be a patch that will grow and strive on to thrive..
And those who have added their lights will I think look on and know all their work no matter how hard it may have seemed was not in vain..
I think you get the gist of my meaning Bela…
That time is drawing nearer… And soon many more will see we are not the Masters of our Universe..
I hope more also understand they are creating that which is to come.. But then I have to remind my self, All is as it should be..
And just be content in creating myself.. 🙂 in the best image lol..
